Whether you’re handing out race bibs, assisting with registration, or cheering participants along the course, your involvement is what makes this event memorable for everyone involved. From setting up the start and finish lines to managing the hydration stations, your efforts help us create a memorable experience for thousands of participants.

MALIBU MOVES EVENT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT AND LIABILITY WAIVER (“Agreement and Waiver”)

PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER CAREFULLY, AS IT AFFECTS YOUR FUTURE LEGAL RIGHTS. BY PROCEEDING WITH REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS.

Highlights of This Agreement and Waiver Include:
  * Participation in Malibu Moves events (the “Event”) involves risks of injury, illness, death, and property damage. You confirm you are physically capable of participating without undue risk.
  * You participate in the Event at your own risk, acknowledging the inherent risks and dangers involved.
  * For participants under 18, or where you are registering on behalf of someone else, you agree to these terms on their behalf.

Full Agreement and Waiver Terms:

Authority to Register: You affirm that you have full legal authority to complete this registration on behalf of yourself and/or any party you are registering (the "Registered Parties"), including the authority to make use of the payment methods used for this registration. If registering a minor or incapacitated adult, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian with the legal capacity to enter into this agreement on their behalf.

Assumption of Risk: You understand that participation in the Event is inherently risky and may result in injury, illness, death, or property damage. You assume full responsibility for these risks, including those that may arise from the terrain, the actions of other participants, and the conditions of public roads and facilities.

Indemnity and Release of Liability: You hereby release Move Together LLC (DBA Malibu Moves), its affiliates, the City of Malibu, the County of Los Angeles, sponsors, and all other persons associated with the Event from any liabilities or claims arising from your participation. This includes liabilities arising from negligence, medical treatment, and the loss or damage of personal property.

Use of Likeness: You grant Move Together LLC (DBA Malibu Moves) the right to use your image and likeness for promotional purposes without compensation.

Event Cancellation Policy: You acknowledge that the Event may be canceled or altered due to weather, safety concerns, or other factors beyond the control of the organizers, with no obligation for a refund of any fees paid.

COVID-19 Acknowledgement: You understand the risks associated with COVID-19 and agree not to participate if you are experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to someone with the virus.

Medical Treatment: You consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary during the Event and release the organizers from any liability for such treatment.

Behavior Expectations: You agree to behave appropriately at the Event and follow all rules and instructions provided by the organizers.

Severability: If any provision of this Agreement and Waiver is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Acceptance: By agreeing to this waiver, you affirm you have read and understood its terms, voluntarily giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue.

Jurisdiction: This Agreement and Waiver shall be governed by the laws of the state in which the Event is held, and any legal action relating to this agreement shall be filed in the corresponding state courts.

BY INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER, YOU AFFIRM THAT YOU ARE THE PARTICIPANT OR THE PARENT/GUARDIAN OF A MINOR PARTICIPANT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS HEREIN.
